There is something so special about first birthday milestone sessions. One whole year of growth, change, cuddles, and so many memories. Watching tiny newborn babies come back to the studio as curious little toddlers is one of my favourite parts of being a Surrey Newborn Photographer. It really reminds you how quickly the first year goes by.
Sweet Nyra came into the Cloverdale studio for her milestone photography session to celebrate turning ONE, and she looked absolutely adorable. Her setup was soft and feminine with blush pinks, mauves, rose gold balloons, and warm twinkle lights for a dreamy and elegant look. Her sparkly pink dress fit the theme perfectly and made the whole session feel magical without being over the top.
Like many babies at this age, Nyra was curious about everything around her. She loved exploring the set, tasting the icing, and showing off her sweet little personality. Those tiny smiles, serious expressions, and icing-covered cheeks are exactly the kinds of moments parents never want to forget. Milestone photography is about capturing your baby exactly as they are right now, from the chubby hands to the little expressions and all the in-between moments.
Cake smash and milestone sessions are always a fun mix of portraits and play. Some babies dive right into the cake while others take their time investigating every little detail first. Either way, the photos always end up full of personality and genuine reactions. Nyra gave us the cutest expressions throughout her session and looked so proud sitting beside her birthday cake.
