Gagan’s Maternity Session | Classic & Minimalist Maternity Photography in Cloverdale

There is something incredibly special about waiting for your very first baby. That season of anticipation—when life is about to change forever. The quiet moments of excitement, the dreams about the future, and the realization that your family is about to grow from two people to three.

Gagan and her husband are right in the middle of that beautiful transition. Soon they will no longer be just a couple—they will be parents, starting their family from scratch and stepping into a completely new chapter of life together.



For her maternity session, Gagan chose a classic and minimalistic style. Simple setups allow the focus to stay where it belongs—on the mother, the growing baby bump, and the connection between the parents. Clean backgrounds, soft lighting, and timeless posing create images that will never feel dated and will remain meaningful for years to come.

One of the things I love most about minimalist maternity photography is how elegant and emotional it can be. Without busy props or elaborate sets, the photographs highlight the natural beauty of pregnancy and the quiet connection between parents who are eagerly waiting to meet their baby.



During the session we captured a mix of portraits. Some were focused on Gagan alone, celebrating the strength and beauty of motherhood, while others included her husband—sharing those moments of excitement as they prepare to welcome their first child. These images tell the story of this special time in their lives, when everything feels new and full of possibility.

Pregnancy is such a brief season. It can feel long while you’re in it, but once your baby arrives the months pass quickly and this chapter becomes a memory. Maternity photos are a way to pause time for just a moment and remember what it felt like before your baby arrived—when you were dreaming about the little person you were about to meet.



Gagan’s session was a perfect example of how simple, timeless maternity portraits can capture the emotion and beauty of this moment in life.

If you are expecting and thinking about maternity photos, sessions are typically best scheduled between 28–34 weekswhen your bump is beautifully round but you are still comfortable enough to pose and move easily.


Maternity sessions take place in my home studio in Cloverdale, Surrey BC, where we can create a variety of elegant, timeless looks in a relaxed environment. Partners and children are always welcome to join so we can capture the full story of your growing family.
