Newborn Photography

Welcoming a new baby into the family is always special - but there is something extra sweet about watching a family grow for the second time.
Recently, I had the absolute joy of photographing Mandy and her beautiful family as they welcomed their second baby boy into the world. As a newborn photographer here in Cloverdale, Surrey, these are the sessions that truly fill my heart.
A New Baby Brother
There is nothing quite like welcoming a new baby into the family. The tiny fingers, soft newborn curls, and the way they fit so perfectly into mom and dad’s arms make these early days unforgettable. Mandy’s newest little boy was calm and cozy for his newborn session, giving us those peaceful, sleepy poses that make newborn photography feel so timeless and classic.
In my studio, I keep everything warm, quiet, and relaxed so baby stays comfortable throughout the session. We focused on soft, neutral tones that will still feel beautiful and elegant decades from now. Simple fabrics, gentle posing, and clean backdrops help keep the focus exactly where it should be, on the newest little member of the family.
The Sweetest Big Brother
One of the highlights of this session was watching big brother step into his new role.
He was absolutely amazing.
From the moment he walked into the studio, he was excited and proud. He gave us the biggest smiles and showed such gentle care with his baby brother. He wrapped his arms around him so naturally and leaned in for those sweet sibling snuggles that every mom dreams of capturing.
As a mom myself, and someone who has worked with children for many years, I know how unpredictable sibling photos can sometimes be. But this big brother truly made it easy. His joy was genuine, and you could already see the bond forming between them.
These sibling images are going to mean so much in the years to come.
A Full Circle Family Moment
To make the session even more special, grandma and grandpa joined us.
There is something incredibly meaningful about capturing three generations together. The pride on their faces as they held their newest grandson was so beautiful to witness. Grandparents understand how quickly these newborn days pass — and being able to freeze those moments in time is such a gift.
We made sure to capture:
Mother and baby portraits
Father with his two boys
Sibling snuggles
And those cherished grandparent moments
These are the images that will hang on walls, sit in albums, and be looked back on for decades.
Why Second Baby Sessions Are So Special
With your first baby, everything feels brand new. With your second, there is a deeper sense of appreciation. You know how fast it goes. You know how quickly they change.
Mandy soaked in every moment during her session. Between poses, she gently stroked his hair and smiled at her growing family. You could feel the gratitude in the room.
That’s what I love most about newborn photography — it’s not just about the baby. It’s about the connection. The transition. The story of your family growing.

Capturing These Fleeting Days
Newborn sessions are typically done within the first two weeks of life when babies are still extra sleepy and curled up. Sessions are calm, baby-led, and designed to be as easy as possible for parents.
If you are expecting your second (or third, or fourth!) baby, I would love to help you document this beautiful chapter. Siblings and grandparents are always welcome to join in — these memories deserve to be preserved.
Mandy, thank you for trusting me again to capture your growing family. Your boys are already surrounded by so much love.
